Training 1100 x 1100-port MEMS-based optical crossconnect switches

We report 1100 x 1100-port optical crossconnect switch using micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. The challenge of generating the database for each connection was addressed by advanced mathematical modeling, streamlined learning process and efficient hill-climbing algorithm.
