TRAML: Time-Adaptive Range-Boundary Aware Mobility-Assisted Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks
01 January 2011
Based on a new range-boundary aware mobility assisted localization, we proposed a more energy efficient localization scheme which is called Time-adaptive range-boundary aware mobility-assisted localization (TRAML) to decrease the number of the transmitted packets from the point view of both the sink and the nodes. Noticed that the sink will send the beacon message periodically during the localization process, which will lead to the waste of the energy cost, we propose an adaptive timer in the localization process according to the comparison with RSSI strength without affecting the localization error. Three timeadaptive algorithms are proposed to improve the energy efficiency. Through our simulation, we compared the three different localization algorithms and indicate the different environment which they most fit in. Also we analyze the performance of the different time interval settings in TCP-like algorithm.
