Turbo-ATOMICS -- Evolving ATOMICS to Meet the Needs of NTT's Evolving Network (6-10)

ATOMICS (Advanced Traffic Observation and Management Information Collecting System), the network surveillance and display system developed by AT&T for the NTT toll telecommunications network, has been in service throughout Japan since mid 1987. ATOMICS provides near real-time traffic monitoring via color graphics displays and projection systems at the national, regional, and district levels, and also sends traffic data summaries to down-stream system for long term network engineering.
