Two TV signals on 45 Mbit/s channel.

We describe an algorithm and its implementation to transmit two TV signals over a 45 Mbit/s channel. Although the reproduced picture does not show any visible coding degradations for almost all scenes, a waveform monitor shows that it does not meet current network requirements established for analog signals. We employ scene adaptive DPCM coding with predictor selection and variable word-length coding of quantized samples.
