Ultraviolet photoemission studies of surfaces using picosecond pulses of coherent XUV radiation.

A new experimental setup for performing photoemission is described which utilizes harmonic generation of short pulsewidth coherent vacuum UV light as well as time-of-flight electron spectroscopy to study the transient dynamics of photoexcited electrons at and near the surfaces of crystalline solids.
