Unified Messaging Service

Unified Messaging Service (UMS) is AT&T's corporate strategy for integrating its messaging products and services such as electronic mail, voice mail, call coverage messaging, and in the future, image mail like facsimile. Integration is achieved through a set of communication packages available on AT&T processors, through a common underlying architecture, which is supported by all AT&T messaging products and services, and through interfaces to selected vendor systems and to the CCITT standard for messaging, Message Handling System (MHS).
