Unrepeatered Transmission of 160 Gb/s RZ-DPSK over 240 km Dispersion Managed Fiber

The advantages of using RZ-DPSK in combination with Raman amplification and advanced forwarderror- correction are shown in an OTDM-transmission experiment of a 160 Gb/s single-polarization signal over an unrepeatered distance of 240 km.
