User's Guide for CENTER/ADVICE (Version 1.0).

CENTER/ADVICE, a CAD system for circuit design optimization and manufacturability analysis, is now available for friendly- users in VAX/UNIX(TM), SUN/UNIX, AMDAHL/UTS, and VAX/VMS computing environments. The present version of the program can perform deterministic optimization of the design of a circuit. There are two algorithms available for this task, Sequential Quadratic Programming and Random Search. Several objective functions like small-signal gain, phase margin, slew rate, etc., have been built into the system to serve analog designers. A powerful language is also available for users to define and compute their own objectives. This memorandum is meant to serve as a User's Guide for the system.
