User/Service Group Separation in Optical Domain Using Overlayed Modulation Technique for 40 Gbit/s Single Wavelength TDM PON

We experimentally demonstrate optical layer separation between user/service groups in burst-mode upstream of 40 Gbit/s TDM PON using overlayed modulation technique. Loss budget exceeding 29 dB and C-band transmission up to 40 km with 12 km differential reach is achieved.
