Vibration sensing on fiber optics: a telecom approach / Captation de Vibrations par Fibre Optique: Une Approche Telecom

This article presents a method for vibration sensing on fiber optics, inspired from the hight data rate and long distance optical telecommunications. We detail the principle of Coherent-MIMO: a sensor with polarization diversity and a coherent laser source, which allows to capture mechanical disturbances with a large bandwidth.
