Virtual Circuit Backbone Network Response Time Analysis

In a virtual circuit network each user session has a given path through the network for the duration of the session, and thus there is a certain set of sessions using each link in the network. We discuss the traffic distribution, arrival patterns and link delay models used in the response time analysis of a DATAKIT(R) II VCS backbone network. This analysis calculates mean and variance delay of messages sent across the backbone.
