Widely Tunable Long-Period Fiber Gratings

The authors report the realization of a new type of long-period fiber gratings with enhanced temperature sensitivity of 80 nm/100C via the use of specially designed fiber structures incorporating polymers. These new gratings should enable broadly tunable filters for communications systems.
