Türk Telekom and Nokia broke new ground in Turkey with 1 Terabit speed connection
Türk Telekom became the first operator in Turkey to perform an optical transmission speed test of 1 Terabits per second (Tbps) over long distances using the new generation DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology. In the trial carried out between Istanbul and Ankara in cooperation with Nokia, 1 Tbps speed was successfully achieved over a single DWDM channel.
With this trial for the Internet and data transmission, a speed of 2.5 times the current optical transmission technology was achieved, while at the same time significant energy savings were achieved.

"As Türk Telekom, the leader of Turkey's digital transformation, we continue to work on innovative technologies that can meet the increasing data speed needs in our country's digitalization process, are more manageable and provide more energy savings. We transferred data between two major metropolises such as Istanbul and Ankara at a speed of 1 Tbps. Technologies that provide these high speeds; It is aimed to increase efficiency by making business processes faster in sectors such as digital gaming, automotive, energy, agriculture, smart city management, health and production."
