Filipe Caetano is Vice President of Product Management for classic Infinera’s Software Automation portfolio. In this role, he leads strategy and roadmap execution across the portfolio, which spans Network Management, Planning Tools, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), subsea automation, and AI-driven initiatives.  With more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, Caetano has held a variety of senior leadership positions within the OSS domain. He began his career in 2002 at Siemens, working in the Optical Networks group as a Project Manager. Since then, he has held roles in program management, R&D leadership, and product management, building a strong technical foundation and a proven track record of delivering customer value.  He played a pivotal role in launching Coriant’s SDN initiatives, spearheading development of the company’s first WAN SDN product demonstration, presented at OFC in San Francisco in March 2014. A strong advocate for software automation, he continues to champion its role in driving openness, simplifying operations, and enabling new revenue streams. More recently, he has been instrumental in consolidating software automation portfolio following the Tellabs and Coriant acquisitions.  Caetano holds a Diploma in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Avionics from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal.

He has participated in several European and national research projects. His current research interests are focused on design issues related to multi-layer network control architectures for core, metro and data center networks, especially in network virtualization related issues, security and multi layer optical packet and transport networks for service providers and cloud providers. Luca Baragiola

Luca, after a Bachelor’s degree in Micro-Electronics engineering from the Politecnico University of Milano in 1997, moved into the telecommunications industry, where he has more than 20 years’ experience.  Since January 2022 he takes a new role inside the broader Nokia Optics community, as responsible for managing NFM-T Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team, a Network Management System platform that is the core of the Optical Network.  Till 2021 he had a PLM role in ION Service BU covering the Optical segment, with a focus on Automation, System Integration, Operational Enablement Solutions and Network Transformation area. In this role Luca was responsible for identifying consumer needs, developing and promoting specific Professional Services to improve customer experience on Nokia Optics network performances and indorsing the ION Professional Service portfolio internally and externally. With this position he developed a deep knowledge on the Nokia Optics product catalogue and related Network Management applications.  Previously he was covering for 5 years a Product Management Role inside the Alcatel-Lucent Network Release Strategy Organization, following the homologation of specific Optics Mobile backhauling solutions.

Matteo Lonardi received his MSc in Communications Engineering (2016) and PhD in Information Technology (2020) from the University of Parma, focusing on the quality of transmission estimation and monitoring in modern optical transmission systems.

In November 2019, Matteo joined Nokia Bell Labs Smart Optical Fabric and Devices group as a Research Scientist, applying machine learning techniques to estimate and monitor the quality of transmission in optical networks. 

Since January 2022, Matteo has embarked on a job rotational position as a product line manager at Nokia. In this role, he focuses on investigating and developing monitoring and sensing technologies in subsystems, expanding his expertise and exploring the potential of machine learning in optical modules and transponders.

Ömer Oskay received his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from Middle East technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey where he specialized in telecommunications.  Ömer is a Senior Product Line Manager, IP Transport at NOKIA, responsible for the development of GMPLS Control Plane for different technologies (SDH, OTN, WDM) for the 1830PSS, 1626LM, 1678MCC product lines, as well responsible for the Open Node / Open Line Systems with NETCONF/YANG. Oriol Bertran Pardo

Oriol Bertran Pardo obtained his PhD from Télécom Paris in electrical engineering. His research work dealt with optical-communication systems, focusing on the physical propagation, for building high-speed long-haul WDM optical transmissions based on coherent detection. After joining development as R&D system engineer and then as product line manager, he contributed to the advanced engineering rules for WDM transmission of the Alcatel-Lucent next generation photonic network architectures. He is currently product line manager of subsystems and DSP in Nokia Optics Business Group.  He has authored and co-authored more than 80 conference and journal contributions, totaling more than 1,500 citations, and holds 13 patents. Among the publications done during his PhD, one was awarded an IEEE student grant and obtained the Photonics21 award. He deserved the Bell Labs president award in 2010 for his contribution and insights on the development of the first 100G coherent solution. He is also a distinguished member of technical staff since 2019.

CTO, IP Networks Business Division for Asia-Pacific

Paresh Khatri is the CTO for the IP Networks Business Division for Nokia Corporation in APAC.  In this role, Paresh is responsible for formulating platform and architecture strategies to meet the varied demands of operators in the Asia-Pacific region.  He has been responsible for architectural design for the largest IP transformation projects in the region and is now working closely with service providers as they address the growing demand for scale and new services that will be enabled by the evolution to 5G.  Paresh’s areas of expertise include the entire range of IP/MPLS technologies and applications, from the network core to the access network. His current areas of interest include 5G transport, network virtualisation and SDNs.  Paresh has more than 25 years of experience with both service providers and vendors in building carrier-grade IP/MPLS networks, including the largest IP NGN transformation project ever undertaken in Australia.  Paresh is a regular speaker at industry conferences in the APAC region and also actively participates in a number of telecommunications industry standards bodies.  Paresh holds a Bachelors of Electronic Systems Engineering (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Information Technology from the Queensland University of Technology.
