The Nokia 7250 Interconnect Router (IXR) family offers a variety of differentiated modular and fixed platforms based on merchant silicon. These routers are suitable for diverse networking needs, including mobile, residential and business access, aggregation, edge compute and data center applications.
With its high-speed interfaces, high port density and precise timing and synchronization capabilities, the 7250 IXR is optimized to provide exceptional performance, reliability and security for service providers, webscale operators and enterprises.
The 7250 IXR uses proven and highly resilient Nokia network operating systems (SR OS, SR Linux) to deliver a rich set of IP routing capabilities. It includes extensive IP/MPLS, segment routing, EVPN and OAM capabilities that can power the most demanding, dynamic and reliable Ethernet and IP/MPLS networks.

- Delivers up to 2.4 Tb/s of system capacity using a compact design

- Offers an integrated GNSS receiver option with full SyncE and IEEE 1588v2 capabilities

7250 IXR-X and IXR-s
- Designed for multi-terabit interconnectivity within data centers, WANs and multi-access edge computing nodes.
- High-density, compact 1RU router delivering up to 25.6 Tb/s of system capacity.
- Supports flexible high-speed interfaces, including 800GE, 400GE, 100GE, 50GE, 25GE and 10GE, with optical breakout options and digital coherent optics.
- Provides full SyncE and IEEE 1588v2 capabilities, security features including a MACsec encryption option
- Functions as a port extender for the Nokia 7750 SR in satellite mode.

7250 IXR-R

- Terabit-scale modular routers designed for data centers, back-end networks and WAN deployments.
- Modular design delivers up to up to 460.8 Tb/s of system capacity, with cards supporting from 100GE up to 800GE, with optical breakout options and digital coherent optics.
- Platforms incorporate an orthogonal direct cross-connect architecture without midplane connectors, enhancing system reliability and lifespan.
- Includes comprehensive security features and MACsec encryption on all ports.

Excellent network resiliency and security reduce network downtime and operations costs while boosting customer satisfaction. Access, aggregation and leaf routers feature deep buffers to accommodate bursty traffic without dropping packets.
Support fronthaul and URLLC applications
7250 IXR access and leaf routers feature low nodal latency (the time for a packet to enter and exit the router) and traffic prioritization features to speed high priority traffic through the network. They offer advanced synchronization features including compliance with eCPRI fronthaul timing specifications.
Accelerate service delivery with automation
7250 IXR routers can take advantage of the advanced, comprehensive, model-driven management capabilities of the Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP). When deployed as part of a software-defined networking (SDN) solution, the NSP supports unified service automation and network optimization across the IP, MPLS, Ethernet and optical transport layers. SR OS enables model-driven management using YANG-based models for automation. Model-driven management interface support includes NETCONF, gRPC (gNMI and gNOI) and the model-driven CLI (MD-CLI).
