Roope Raisamo

Biography

Roope Raisamo is Nokia's Head of Haptics Coding Research. With over 30 years experience in human-technology interaction, multimodal interaction, and haptics, he has contributed to the on-going MPEG-I and 3GPP standardization on haptics. Roope’s work at Nokia involves leading the research on haptics coding and generation technologies and delivering practical solutions for efficient haptics processing. Roope is also working as a Professor in Tampere University. He has over 300 scientific publications and more than 20 patents or patent applications. Previously he was Visiting Professor in Nokia Technologies Multimedia Technologies Unit with funding from The Finnish Research Impact Foundation.
