Patrik Hammarén
President of Technology Standards

Patrik is President of Technology Standards. He and his team are responsible for cellular, multimedia, and WiFi research and standardization; protecting Nokia’s innovation by securing patents; managing Nokia’s patent portfolio; monetizing Nokia’s innovation through patent licensing; and advising the other Nokia business units on their IP strategy.
Prior to his current role, Patrik held several senior positions in Nokia’s licensing business including: Chief Licensing Officer Wireless Technologies; Vice President, Head of IoT Licensing Program; and Head of Patent Licensing Greater China. During this time, he was heavily involved in the renewal of many of Nokia’s major smartphone license agreements.
Patrik also has extensive experience in IP strategy, business development, and transactions and has a master's degree in law from Helsinki University and a master’s degree in science from Aalto University.
Outside of work Patrik enjoys reading, playing sports, and spending time with his family, especially watching his sons play ice hockey.
