Insights into Cellular Networks: Anatomy of traffic profiles

Analysis of real telecommunication data can bring a fine grasp and good understanding of user behavior dynamics and resulting implications for network management Following this approach we analyze actual wireless traffic and provide basis for a suitable network model with the given network traffic profile. Unlike previous approaches, we introduce criteria for intelligent network resources utilization and define metrics to discover an optimization potential of wireless system architectures. Our traffic fluctuation analysis is of interest for different purposes, e.g. traffic load prediction, hardware electronics transition times, etc. Thus this study provides insights into a HW realization of a future base station and basis for development of efficient network architectures.
