Intelligent Network 2: Operations Considerations

The purpose of this paper is to present the operations issues and possible impacts on existing operation systems and work centers implied by the Intelligent Network 2 architecture. Intelligent Network 2 (IN/2), is being defined by Bell Communications Research and the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs). It takes the BOCs toward a programmable environment with intelligent peripherals, multiple network databases and third-party vendor interfaces and services. This paper will explore the following IN/2 operations issues.
