Inter-Channel Crosstalk in Periodically Poled LiNbO sub 3 Waveguides Wavelength Converters

We report on a quantitative study of the pump depletion effect on the conversion efficiency and on the converted channel BER in periodically poled LiNbO sub 3 parametric wavelength converters. We show that simultaneous multiple channel conversion is not negatively impacted by pump depletion in systems with channel counts 55 for a power of 6 dBm per channel using pump power of 20 dBm.
