Interchannel Cross Talk Caused by Pump Depletion in Periodically Poled LiNbO3 Waveguide Wavelength Converters

We study experimentally and theoretically the limits of multi-channel parametric wavelength conversion imposed by pump- depletion, in periodically poled LiNbO sub 3 waveguides. Up to 55 channels with 6dBm of power each, can be simultaneously converted with less than 10 sup -9 error rate using a pump power of 20dBm.
