Investigation of 42.7-Gb/s quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) signals using linear optical sampling

The properties of 42.7-Gb/s quadrature phase-shift keying signals are investigated using linear optical sampling. The effects of ASE, chromatic dispersion, and nonlinear propagation on the electric field are demonstrated.
