IoT Control Algorithm for Uplink Power Control in LTE

In LTE system, the interference over thermal noise (IoT) level control is crucial to system performance especially for the cell edge users. In this paper, an effective IoT control algorithm is proposed for uplink transmission so as to avoid the avalanche effect of closed-loop power control. The proposed solution is able to accurately control system IoT level, and improve system performance for both homogenous network (HomNet) and heterogeneous network (HetNet) with little X2 signaling overhead.
