IoT360 Lecture on IoT Service Platforms
15 October 2014
Invited lecture at IoT360 Summer School, 31/10/2014, Rome, Italy, http://iot-360.eu/summer-school/summer-school-program/ Abstract: IoT Service platforms are not different from other (possibly distributed) stream-intensive service creation and execution environments, but the IoT perspective elicits generalisable requirements related to the observation & actuation interaction the platform has with the real world in which it is put to action. The lecture will provide the audience - an intro on how a sample of example IoT service platforms have seen evolving ambitions in the past years - an IoT Service Platform "cookbook" discussing the main ingredients to such platform, - ways to leverage and systematically grow a world model allowing optimized service pool execution, and the remaining challenges in this respect.
