Jitter Accumlation in Fiber Optic Systems

In this thesis we have rigorously derived the presently accepted models of jitter accumlation along a chain of self-timed optoelectronic regenerators carefully stating all assumptions. We then developed measurement techniques which were used to characterize and measure forty individual fiber optic regenerators. These forty regenerators, were then cascaded together and the jitter accumation was measured along the chain of regenerators.
