A 64-channel 14 GHz-spaced MEMS-based filter has been constructed. It utilizes a lens and grating to demultiplex the light onto an array of electrostatically actuated micromechanical single axis tilt mirrors. It exhibits flat top pass bands and an insertion loss of 7dB. This device can be used as an optical filter with reconfigurable pass band with a minimum 3dB transmission bandwidth of 12.2 GHz with additional 14 GHz increments.
