Method for the Determination of a Quality-of-Transmission Estimator along the Lightpaths of Partially Transparent Networks

We propose a method to determine an analytical expression of the transmission Q-factor along a lightpath in a transparent networl. We experimentally assess its accuracy on a SMF-based WDM transmission system at 10.7 Gbit/s.
