Microstructure and properties of ceramic Ba sub 2 YCu sub 3 O sub 7.

This paper presents a consistent description of both normal- state (i.e., resistivity) and superconducting (i.e., j sub c) transport in ceramic Ba sub 2 YCu sub 3 O sub 7, based on observations of the microstructure and properties of a variety of ceramic samples, and relates this model to recent developments, including melt-process growth which yields unprecedented high values of j sub c.
