Describes a link with 5 repeaters and 2 terminal stations to connect an outlying station at Nashville to the national relay network, a distance of 157 miles. Two transmission frequencies are alternated along the link to avoid interference and sound is transmitted by sub-carrier equipment. 5 W frequency-modulated klystrons are used with a band of 16 Mc/s the channel bandwidth being 5 Mc/s. 6 or 10 ft diameter paraboloids are used depending on station distance. In all cases the paraboloids are at ground level and the beam points vertically. It is then reflected to the horizontal by a plane reflector at 45deg. The repeater stations housing the equipment are accommodated between the tower legs. Photos are given of the receiving and transmitting equipment also the towers and parabolic and plane reflectors.
