Microwave Vector Modulation and Arbitrary Waveform Generation Using Optical Technologies

Optical techniques have the potential to overcome bandwidth and speed limitations for the generation of complex modulated microwave signals. In our talk we present a photonic integrated circuit architecture comprising high-speed phase shifters and delay lines for broadband microwave vector modulation with symbol rates in the order of multiple Gigabit/sec and higher.
