Multi-level scheduling for network slicing

Network function virtualization (NFV) and cloud computing provide more flexibility and elasticity for mobile networks with the creation of network slicing. The slice orchestration and management allow multi-slices in the same cluster corresponding the various service demands. However, the single scheduling components could not be adapted the difference slice QoS requirements and may create the bottle neck. In this paper, we propose the multi-levels scheduling solution for network slicing while for each slice creation, the new Slice scheduler will be also created. The Global Scheduler filters the appropriate nodes for each slice and command the Slice scheduler deploy slice instance according appropriated algorithm and metrics. We develop our telecom testbed using containerization technology and these scheduling approaches are integrated with Kubernetes container orchestrator.
