Multiflow regenerators using network coding for bidirectional links

We propose a multiflow regenerator architecture using bit-level network coding in bidirectional links. The regenerator sends two different messages from a single transmitter device. Therefore fewer electro-optic components are used for the same performance. Simulations show ~20% cost reduction.
