Multiple-Output Er sup (3+) Fiber Amplifier for Analog and QAM Distribution Systems

We describe the advantages and performance of a low noise and high power four-output Er sup (+3) -Yb sup (+3) doped fiber amplifier for the distribution of analog video and data signals. Successful amplified transmission of both of 77 NTSC analog channels and 34 6Mhz 64-QAM channels are demonstrated over different fiber architectures.
