Multiplex broadcasting

Proposals are made for a form of broadcasting in which a single transmitter and transmitting aerial are used for the simultaneous transmission of several programmes. Comparison is made between frequency-division multiplex and time-division multiplex systems, of which the latter is preferred. The application of this principle to television is suggested.
