MULTIUSER DETECTION FOR A MULTIMEDIA LEO SATELLITE SYSTEM

This paper describes the optimisation of a class of multiuser detectors for a return link multimedia LEO satellites constellation system. We take into consideration the constraints of asynchronism over several chips and tight power control, which leads to consider both classes of parallel interference canceller (PIC) and multistage multiuser detectors. The gain obtained by using the optimised multiuser detectors allows either a gain of 1 dB on the link budget or a 58% gain of the number of simultaneous users
