Necessary Conditions for TDMA Frame Assignment in the Presence of Interference.

Interference between stations in multi-transponder TDMA radio systems can cause one or more stations using simultaneous time slots to have unacceptable performance. To avoid this problem, only the "allowable" station combinations can be assigned in the same time slot. The offered traffic may sometimes exceed the traffic capacity of these combinations and it is useful to know when this occurs. In this memo, the necessary conditions for traffic assignability previously known are extended to include a much broader set of conditions. An algorithm for finding the extended set is given and discussed. Although these conditions are not sufficient all the time, and some examples are given to illustrate this, they are sufficient for some of the problems that might be expected in TDMA communications systems.
