Negative Index Bands in Sub-wavelength Metallic Gratings

We describe negative group index surface plasmons in nano-structured metallic gratings. The periods and amplitudes of silver gratings exhibiting negative group index, as well as the attenuation lengths of the negative-index surface waves, are derived.
