Neighbor Discovery in LTE-A Device-to-Device Networks
21 September 2013
In recent years, device-to-device (D2D) communications underlaying cellular networks received much attention, due to great potential to enhance spatial spectrum efficiency. Neighbor discovery is a fundamental aspect of D2D communications, which allows users to discover and identify devices and/or services in neighborhood. In this paper, we proposed a neighbor discovery system design in LTE-A framework, including discovery resource configuration with hierarchical discovery period structure, discovery channel coding with variant coding versions and reference signals alleviating collision interference and a semi-distributed grouping-based random selection of discovery channels. Simulations are made to evaluate and validate the neighbor discovery schemes.
