Network Architecture for the Nationwide Emergency Telecommunications Service (NETS) (U)

(U) NETS (Nationwide Emergency Telecommunications Service) is intended to provide national security/emergency preparedness (NSEP) communications for critical government users in the event of major natural disaster or nuclear war. To make NSEP communications possible, the public switched network (PSN) is enhanced with resources including Call Controllers (CCs), facility augmentations, survivable signaling and enhanced routing supported by a special NETS numbering plan.
