Neutron production from shell confined CD plasmas by 1.06micron laser irradiations.

We first demonstrate the neutron production of more than 10 sup 8 from 100micron thick gold shell confined CD plasmas without an implosion using 6 beams of GEKKO XII glass laser system at 1.06micron laser wavelength. The equivalent neutrons of D-T reactions are estimated to be 10 sup (10) ~ 10 sup (11).
