New 50 kW CBS international broadcasters

Additional details are given of the station equipment of the CBS transmitters on Long Island, N.Y. [See Abstr. 1942B01282]. The new station operates regularly with 2 50 kW and 1 10 kW unit simultaneously, using 13 directive arrays on 9 frequencies from 6 to 22 Mc./s. The description includes an account of the station layout, the r.f. units, the power amplifier, aerial switching mechanism, modulators, power supply and control system.
