New Frontiers in Speech Research

Over the last decade, the field of speech processing has made tremendous progress and speech technology is ready to move in several important application areas. We will review the present state of the art in speech coding, synthesis and recognition and discuss the key concepts that form the foundation of the current speech technology. Speech research is now entering in its most exciting phase and we will discuss the new directions that are being pursued to solve the more difficult problems in speech processing.
