New standard repeater equipment
01 December 1932
The new equipment gives improved transmission characteristics, great economy in space, a much lower current drain, and possesses a greatly improved appearance. Dia grams and tables illustrate the difference in weight and size between the new and the old equipment. All apparatus components are of the same height, which simplifies cabling. The advantages claimed are: (1) improved appearance; (2) simple maintenance; (3) reduced current drain due to a new frac14-ampere vacuum tube; (4) reduced size and economy in floor space; (5) reduced weight so that a larger number of units can be accommodated without increase of floor loading; (6) improved performance. The modification in the apparatus and the layout are fully illustrated and described.
