New Techniques and Directions in Picosecond Infrared Spectroscopy

An overview of generation schemes for picosecond pulses in the mid-infrared (2-10 microns) will be presented. Applications at the frontiers of research in surface science, protein dynamics, polymer physics and photochemistry will be highlighted as examples of the value of transient studies in the mid-infrared.
