Much has occurred in the ten years since the First Edition of this book was published, to affect the field of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). The two most important are the proliferation of digital electronics into the market place and the Federal Communications Rules on controlling the emissions from digital systems. There is more need for information on controlling noise and interference in digital systems, and in low cost techniques for providing EMC that can be applied to consumer products sold in a very competitive environment. Virtually all the material contained in the First Edition is still applicable and has been retained. In addition, 4 new chapters have been added on material relating to digital electronics, electrostatic discharge and EMC regulations.
