Note on reactive elements for broad-band impedance matching
14 March 1952
Broad-band reactance compensation can be achieved by the use of a series element in combination with a parallel element and load. Three applications, namely the discontinuity in the beginning of a taper in the narrow side of a waveguide, an H-bend corner, and a waveguide gas-seal, are given in which broadband matching of waveguide components is achieved by this means. The limitations of this method are shown and the need for development of convenient series elements is stressed.
