Novel measurement method of the phase-amplitude coupling factor of a multimode optical transmitter based on sinusoidal optical phase modulation

A novel method based on sinusoidal phase modulation is introduced to measure simultaneously the Henry factor of more than 15 longitudinal modes (i.e. > 10 nm) without the use of a filter. A very good agreement is found in the case of a single optical carrier with the wellknown fiber transfer function technique, this latter method requiring to filter each individual mode.
