On the Road with AUTOPLEX System 1000

AUTOPLEX(TM) System 1000, AT&T's third-generation cellular telecommunications system, brings increased flexibility to cellular carriers-providers of mobile phone service--and their subscribers. Until now, AUTOPLEX System 10, which uses AT&T's System 85 digital switch, has been handling mid-size markets. AUTOPLEX System 100, which incorporates the 1AESS(TM) switch, serves large markets. The new AUTOPLEX System 1000 couples existing switching technology with AT&T's new interprocess message switch technology. This connects several processors, giving System 1000 flexible call processing capacity that can be expanded readily to serve markets of different sizes and growth potential.
