On The Uplink of a Cellular System with Imperfect Power Control and Multiple Services
01 January 2006
We analyse a single cell wireless uplink using Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) to resolve interference between a number of data users (of different classes). Received power control (with a lognormal error) is used to manage this interference. There is an outage probability that a user's signal-to-noise ratio requirement will not be met. Refined central limit approximations are used to determine suitable received power targets and the number of users from each data class which can be supported, for given requirements on the outage probability.
