Operation and Analysis of Current Copier Circuits

A method for sampling, holding, and making practically identical copies of a current without relying on the matching of circuit elements (such as capacitors or transistors) is presented. Sources of error are identified and circuit techniques for the reduction of error proposed. Measurements of the performance of an experimental MOS IC are discussed. Applications of these circuits include signal processors, A/D and D/A converters.
